Interdisciplinary Program in Gender Studies established in College of Social Sciences

Professor Kwon, Tae-Hwan served as the first IPGS director

1999-2000

Spring, first admissions of graduate students for master’s degree

IPGS held a symposium, Feminism in History, Feminism around Us, to celebrate its establishment

IPGS took parts in the Women’s International War Crimes Tribunal on Japan’s Military Sexual Slavery

2002

Spring, first admissions of doctorate students

2004

Professor Chung, Chin-Sung served as the director

First undergraduate course, Women and Leadership, created

2006

Professor Bae, Eun-Kyung hired to coordinate the IPGS

Undergraduate course, Understanding of Feminism, created

2012

Professor Kweon, Sug-in served as the director

2013

IPGS Graduate Student Union held its first Forum for Networking Undergraduates to Graduates in Gender Studies (annually since then)

Undergraduate course, Sexuality and Gender Equality, created

MOU with the Korean Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education (for professional instructor development course on violence prevention education)
